Introduction to Unreal Engine 4

Its goes over the basics again
Placing and Manipulating Actors
Basics but it does go over BSP Geometry a bit
under the moods tab> place> Geometry
it will only have polys on the outside unless you click the hollow button.
using geometry editor to make and floor and ceiling with the subtractive brush

Made a door way by using the subrative brush and lining it up with the rest of the wall

Blocking in the level
I used a 2 cylinders and 2 boxes to make this. One is subjective and one is additive. the Smaller one is sub this creates a wall. Then I move the vertices of the sub to connect the 2 rooms together.

Cutting out Windows
Once you edit the geometry dont change the values or else it is lost.
Used subtractive boxes put them in place

Finishing the blocking Stage
When you move the object you can hold down shift and then the camera will move with you.
Making the bathroom, beams and culoms. Made from additive bathrooms.

Importing Static Meshes
When exporting the FBX make sure the object is at 0'0'0'

Placing Our Walls

Finishing the Outside Walls
When scales walls the texture will scale as well.
placed the walls, door, floor, ceiling.
Deleted the outside brushes.

Finishing the Room Structure

Placing the windows and doors
Bringing in the the static mesh of the doors and windows.

Lighting Basics
Make sure you build the lighting once when you bring in a new light.

Creating Wood Material
I put the normal map in. Used a constant for the roughness and the spec.  Then for the base color since we wanted the wood to look painted but chipping I used a Linear Interpolate (LERP) for the white paint and the wood underneath.
Hold 'A' on the keyboard  then left click to "add node.
Texture Coordinate is used for the tiling.

Using Parameters to set up an Instance
'M' and left click will get give you a multiply node.
Made a tiling parameter and then color one.
If you change the parent the instance will change as well.

Applying Materials to the Room

LIGHTS
AHHHH it looks sooo pretty!!!
I used a directional light, sky light and the atmospheric Fog

Creating Landscape and Trees
I enjoyed this part.

Set Dressing
I LOVE THIS PART!! Ahhh its nice to see it all come together and OMG the partials!!!

Toggle Lighting
It dont work how I wanted to but thats ok

2d Game Based on Book

http://flowlab.io/game/play/576256

So this game is inspired by the book "Oh, the places you will go" By Dr. Seuss. When I was little my mom thought it would be a cool idea to have all of my teachers sign this book and I can go through life thanking and remembering the teachers you have helped me get to the places I want to get to. The possibilities are endless!

http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbVbYRQGLz

So in the first level you have to gain the knowledge (become older) to make it to Elementary school. In the game I made the player look like the character from the book. I made the baby toys and ground. I had alot of fun picking out the colors and makes sure it looked nice. I wish I had been able to get the background working but I couldnt figure out how to upload the picture correctly. I was a baby room.

I will have to admit I was very nervous and intimidated by this project so I did the worst thing I could have done procrastinate. Which was exactly what you said not to do. I need to not be that why and to dive head first into things. It took me awhile to get the hang of the "codeing" side of it. Like, I know it should have been easy to figure out but for some reason it wasnt clicking in my head. All in all through I am very proud the first ever game that I have made WOOT WOOT!!
